ShutterID appears in Lightroom Classic as a publish service, next to the ones Lightroom ships with. A collection becomes a gallery — and what your client says comes back to the same catalog.
- A collection becomes a gallery. Publish, and the photos are in ShutterID.
- Edits replace themselves. Re-edit and publish again — the new version takes the old one’s place, under the same link.
- Tell recipients when you publish. One switch: “Notify recipients after publishing”.
- Comments and hearts in Lightroom. They show up in the comments panel next to the photo.
- Approval verdicts in the catalog. “Sync with ShutterID…” brings them in — optionally as a colour label.
Setting up
- Install the Mac app — it carries the plug-in with it.
- Install the plug-in from the app’s settings — one click, straight into Lightroom Classic.
- Connect. In Lightroom’s Publishing Manager choose “Connect through the ShutterID app” and confirm the code in Studio. No token to copy.
Good to know
- You don’t need Lightroom — Studio and the Mac app upload too.
- Comments reach the catalog without the recipient’s email address.
Folders, background uploads — and Studio without a network
ShutterID Studio for Mac is the whole Studio in a native app, plus what a browser can’t do: watch your folders, upload from the disk in the background and keep working offline.
- A folder is a gallery. Pin it once — new files go up on their own.
- “Publish changes”. Re-exported photos replace the old ones; files you delete wait for your click and go to the gallery’s trash, never straight to oblivion.
- Uploads from where the files are. No copies on the disk; pause any time and see what didn’t go.
- Offline. Browse from a local copy and keep working — changes wait in a queue and go out when the network is back.
- Notifications. Comments, approval replies and hearts as system notifications.
- Lightroom in one click. The app installs and connects the plug-in.

The photographer’s panel, from any computer
Nothing to install. Studio is where libraries, links and recipients live — and where the answers come back.
- Library → albums → galleries. One client, one library for years; drag and drop to upload.
- Links your way. To a library, album or gallery, with a short code or a QR — and rules per link: password, view-only, licence.
- Activity. Visits, downloads, selections and approvals — link by link.
- A team. Invite people and give them roles (from Pro).
- Plan and billing. Pick or change your plan and pay by card; Stripe issues the invoice.
Roles in the studio
- Owner — everything, including plan, payments and team
- Collaborator — content, recipients and links
- Assistant — uploads and organises, but never sends or sees links
1 person on Pro (+€5 each extra), 5 included on Studio.
Link rules by plan
What a link can do — passwords, originals, licences, the download log — depends on the plan. See them all on How it works.
For your client — optional, never required
A link or a short code opens the photos in any browser, no account. Clients who want more install ShutterID on their iPhone.
- In with a link or a code. Or sign in with Apple or Google.
- Every library in one place — from other photographers too — and it survives a change of phone.
- Notifications about new photos.
- Hearts, comments and approvals right on the phone.
- Save to Photos — one photo or the whole gallery.
- Revoking still works. Close a link and the library disappears from the app too.
Requires iOS 16.4 or later. In English and Polish.

One studio, whichever door you use
From where you work
Lightroom Classic, a folder on your Mac or the browser — it all lands in the same studio.
One library per client
A link per recipient, each with its own rules and its own trail.
To any phone
The client opens it in a browser or the iPhone app; selections, comments and verdicts come back to you.
Do I need Lightroom?
No. You can upload in Studio in the browser or from the Mac app. The Lightroom Classic plug-in is for those who want to publish straight from the catalog and get selections back.
Do I need the Mac app?
No. Studio in the browser does the job on its own. The Mac app adds pinned folders, background uploads from the disk, offline work and notifications — and it is the way to install the Lightroom plug-in.
Is there a Windows app?
Not yet — it is on the way. Until then Studio works in any browser on Windows.
Does my client have to install anything?
No. A link or a short code opens the photos in any browser, without an account. The iPhone app is optional.
Which plans include the tools?
All of them, Free too: the Lightroom plug-in, the Mac app and the client iPhone app are on every plan. What a link can do — passwords, originals, licences — depends on the plan.
